Paul Smith exhibition at The Design Museum

I am planning to see the Paul Smith exhibition at The Design Museum over the Christmas break - he is one of my design heroes, with an enduring sense of style.

The Opening of our Walton Street Showroom!

We are delighted to announce the opening of our Walton Street Showroom. Newly extended and fully refurbished, the showroom offers an extensive range of beautiful accessories and key furniture pieces. Open 7 days a week from now until Christmas; drop in to find a stunning range of LB gifts to choose from!

We would also like to introduce you to the latest member of the LB team, Ellie! She’s keeping us all on our toes here in the Design Studio but we absolutely love having her here! She had a very busy day with us at a recent photo shoot and we couldn’t resist snapping a few pictures of her too!

Isabella Blow - Fashion Galore!

I hope to get out  of the showroom next week to take in the Isabella Blow fashion exhibition at Somerset House which opens on Wednesday.  A huge influence and inspiration to so many artists and designers, this is such an exciting opportunity to see one of the major private fashion collections in Europe. 

Autumn Nights

These cold autumn nights are perfect for getting cosy at home and finding time to read or flick through some books or magazines for inspiration. I absolutely love the photography in Tom Ford’s book ‘Ten Years’. The images are simply breath-taking and great for colour inspiration.

Fabric Collection

We are all delighted here at Louise Bradley with the response to our new Fabric Collection and Kimbolton Court based Fabric Room.  Our clients have been extremely enthusiastic over the simplicity our show lengths offer when envisioning a finished sofa, chair or other upholstered item. Our Fabric Launch also recently had more coverage in the Saturday Telegraph Magazine!

Accessories Collection

We are excited to be getting closer to the re-opening of our Walton Street Showroom which will be dedicated to the LB Accessories Collection. The refurbishment is now well under way and we have some beautiful new ranges, including these decorative Agate Slices. Great to keep in mind during the run up to Christmas!

Busy week...

It has been a very busy week for us all in the LB offices. Marni in particular found our latest showroom shoot quite exhausting! But made sure to get involved and keep a close eye on all the action.

Presentation at Crestron Showroom

I am delighted to be giving an informal presentation at the new Crestron showroom in Chelsea Harbour. We have designed the interior and furnishings for this beautiful space and have worked closely with Crestron on a number of projects.

Launch of Louise Bradley Fabric Collection

We are getting ready for the launch of the LB Fabric Collection at the Kimbolton Court showroom during Design Week. Do come and see us! Lots of beautiful new pieces of furniture to see too!

London Fashion Week

I love to keep an eye on the shows at London Fashion Week, and was really taken with some of the ideas and themes in the Christopher Kane show. There was a mix of minimalist monochrome evening dresses, as well as colourful floral pieces that provided a beautiful contrast and really lit up the show!

Chantilly

We had a wonderful weekend in Chantilly, France where we visited ‘The Living Horse Museum’, a remarkable 18^th Century architectural masterpiece dedicated to equine art and culture. Renowned as one of the most beautiful stables in the World, it was built by the Seventh Prince of Conde as he believed, after death, he would be reincarnated as a horse and wanted stables that were worthy of his rank. We were overwhelmed by the grandeur of the magnificent Courtyards and the stunning Grand Stables housed beneath an impressive 28 metre high dome. A truly amazing building filled with history. 

Fabric Collection

The LB team have been working hard over the last few months, excitedly putting together the final elements for the Louise Bradley Fabric Collection. The launch will be held at our Kimbolton Court Showroom to coincide with Decorex and Design week. Please come and join us for a glass of champagne and to preview the collection.

The Crestron Showroom

Here's a glimpse of the Crestron Showroom one of our latest design projects, which opens in September at the Chelsea Design Centre. The team at LB are currently pulling together the final elements for the installation. The showroom will be a luxurious combination of state of the art technology within beautiful finishes, whilst showcasing the latest pieces from the LB furniture collection.

There are some gorgeous accessories in the Kimbolton Court Showroom at the moment - we love these elegant Parchment and Black Penshell Boxes, they fit perfectly in any space to hide the clutter!

Miles Aldridge

I am hoping to escape the Design Studio long enough this week to take in the Miles Aldridge retrospective at Somerset House. Miles really caught my eye as the Harvey Nichols 'New Breed' campaign photographer, and his use of vibrant colours splashed across enormous photographic prints will surely make this a fantastic summer exhibition.

I just love the Lyon Armchair, part of our new collection for Autumn 2013. Luxurious upholstery, stud detailing and elegant design details make this chair a stand-out item, and one that is sure to command attention in any room!

Lime Wood

I have enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at Lime Wood with friends. The perfect place to recharge the batteries and enjoy England at its best!

Summer is here!

Summer has finally arrived in England and so has our luck! What an amazing weekend watching Murray win the Wimbledon Men's Single Finals, a true inspiration, well done Andy.

Marni and Bebe are looking forward to a day out at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre Dog Show this Wednesday. 

RIBA Awards 2013

I have just had a chance to catch up on the results of the Royal Institute of British Architects Awards 2013, and I particularly loved one of the winners of the London category, designed by Dixon & Jones - Quadrant 3. It is a great example of modern large-scale architecture, a stunning and innovative use of an enormous triangular space in the West End.

New Louise Bradley website launched

We are very excited to be able to show you our new and improved website. You can now view Louise's portfolio of installations, as well as her furniture collection on the website - inspiring stuff!

I am very much looking forward to dropping into the Masterpiece London fair at the end of the month - as ever there will be a myriad of exhibitors present, each with the finest examples from their respective areas: rare silver, jewels, Renaissance sculpture and contemporary ceramics to name but a few. Inspirational knowledge and aesthetics!

Rutland Chairs

I love to use symmetry to bring a room together and provide a focal point. This can be achieved with accessories, such as lamps and vases, or with furniture like the Rutland Chairs shown here. These elegant matching chairs are a lovely addition to both classic and contemporary rooms, and are very comfortable too!

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

My part of London is buzzing this week as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show has descended upon us. I have taken a quick look around and particularly loved The Laurent-Perrier Garden. It unites the classic style of French and English gardens, and gives a wonderful contemporary take on a romantic garden.

The show runs until the 25th May at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea

Cannes Film Festival 2013

I have been looking forward to seeing what the stars choose to wear on the red carpet at Cannes - and so far they have not disappointed! I adore this Dior Couture dress worn by Nicole Kidman yesterday.

The Demi Lune Cabinet

Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby, which opens the Cannes Film Festival this week, has really caught my imagination. The glamour of the Roaring Twenties has had so many lasting influences on fashion and design, and items from my own collection are no exception. I particularly think the Demi Lune Cabinet would fit in rather well in Gatsby's home!

Trevilion & Pascal Console Tables

We have some beautiful new furniture arriving in the showroom this month, and these two console tables are already firm favorites with the team. The Trevilion has a metal frame with a leather covered top, while the Pascal has an antiqued gold frame and eel skin top - drop by and take a look if you in the area...

Bank Holiday Weekend - 'Light Show' Exhibition, Southbank Centre

I am always interested in light and the way it can be used to alter the look and feel of a room, so the 'Light Show' exhibition is the perfect indulgence for me this bank holiday weekend.

Catch it at the Hayward Gallery in the Southbank Centre, before it finishes next Monday the 6th of May.

Spring Decorative Fair in Battersea...

I am hoping to get out of the office to enjoy this gorgeous sunshine, and to pop into the Spring Decorative Fair in Battersea. There is masses to see including some inspirational antiques and statement design pieces!

These stunning Courchevel lights, made of glass shards, are the newest addition to our showroom at Louise Bradley.

New French Ceramics

We have some beautiful new French ceramics just arriving in the showroom in shades of dove grey, duck egg, antique white and stone.

We are filling them with bunches of twigs and willow - Spring might finally be making an appearance....
